Local Eagle Scout honored for improvement project at Cheltenham Fire Company

The Cheltenham Fire Company announced that firefighter and Cheltenham High School student Michael Follmer was honored on behalf of his Eagle Scout Project, which involved deep cleaning and re-painting the engine bay floors at Station 4 of the fire house.

Follmer was joined by fellow Cheltenham Fire Company members at the Eagle Scout Court of Honor on Thursday, September 12 at the Ed Drach Memorial Scout Cabin on Tookany Creek Parkway.

Follmer and Cheltenham Troop 22 began the project in April.

“This project consisted of many volunteer hours helping Michael on his way to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout as well as helping our Fire Company with maintaining the quality of our volunteer fire station which serves the residents of Cheltenham Township and its neighboring communities,” the company said in a post.

Follmer became a certified firefighter in December 2023.
