Abington Township
The Abington Township Police Department has declared a Snow Emergency beginning Saturday, February 21 at 6:00pm and ending Tuesday, February 24 at 12:00pm.

Cheltenham Township
Cheltenham Township has declared a Snow Emergency beginning on Sunday, February 22 at 7:00am and ending at 11:59pm on Monday, February 23.
From the announcement:
Trash/recycling collection will be delayed one day. Wall House Open House is cancelled.
Parked cars must be removed from Snow Emergency Routes during a Snow Emergency. Only vehicles with chains or snow/all-weather tires may travel on Snow Emergency Routes during this timeframe.
Public Works and emergency personnel ask for your assistance with the following: – Park in driveways whenever possible. Where not possible, all vehicles should be parked on the even-numbered side of the street. (This does not apply to streets already marked as one-side parking only.) – Clear a 3′ area around fire hydrants. – Shovel your sidewalks and emergency ramps at 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐦 24″ wide. This is key to emergency responses such as moving stretchers to assist patients. – Do not shovel snow into the street.
Mayor Gabe Lerman has declared a Snow Emergency in Jenkintown Borough:
Springfield Township
Springfield Township has declared a Snow Emergency starting at 12:00am on February 22 in effect until further notice.
From the announcement:
Residents are required to move their vehicles off of the street, or in accordance to the guidelines in the link below if off-street parking is unavailable. Residents should also avoid traveling Sunday and Monday due to dangerous winter road conditions unless absolutely necessary.
Other Key Information:
Library Closed on Sun, Feb 22, stay tuned for updated closures for Monday Trash and recycle collection for Monday will be cancelled and postponed to the following business day. Both Monday and Tuesday trash collection routes will have trash collection on Tuesday Residents that experience a power outage should call PECO at 1-800-841-4141

Upper Moreland Township
Upper Moreland Township has declared a snow emergency starting Sunday, February 22 at 12:00pm until Tuesday, February 24 at 12:00pm.
From the announcement:
No parking is allowed on designated snow emergency routes during this time. If you have a driveway, PLEASE park there. If it is necessary to park on the street, PLEASE park on the side of the street with EVEN numbered addresses.
Property owners are reminded to clear a pathway on sidewalks within 48 hours after snow or ice has stopped falling. Please do not shovel or dump snow and ice onto public streets. Your assistance is welcomed in clearing space around fire hydrants so that they are clearly visible and accessible.
In the event of a power outage, please call PECO’s emergency phone line at 1-800-841-4141. For all police, fire, or medical emergencies, dial 9-1-1.
Lower Moreland Township
Lower Moreland Township has declared a snow emergency effective Saturday, February 21 at 6:00pm until 12:00pm on Tuesday, February 24.
From the announcement:
Township code requires all motor vehicles to be removed from roads and snow to be cleared from fire hydrants. Township residents are also required to clear a pathway, not less than 30 inches in width, on sidewalks by removing snow and ice within 36 hours after snow has stopped falling. Please do not shovel or plow snow from driveways or sidewalks into the street or onto someone else’s property. Should a power outage occur, please call PECO’s emergency phone line at 1-800-841-4141.
SCHOOL CLOSURES
The following school districts in greater Glenside have announced that schools will be closed on Monday, February 23.
Because of the winter storm moving through our area, and in coordination with Jenkintown Borough’s snow emergency, Jenkintown School District will be closed on Monday, February 23rd.
We will hold a Flexible Instruction Day for students tomorrow, and teachers will share any needed information through Google Classroom or email. For more information about the Flexible Instruction Day, please visit our website.

We know storms can create challenges for everyone. If your home loses power and your child can’t access their classes, please just send a quick email to the teacher and either Mrs. Mulvaney or Mrs. DeFazio once everything is back up and running so we can update our Attendance:

Due to incoming inclement weather, Monday, February 23, 2026 will be a flexible instruction day for all students and a virtual day for all staff. Stay safe!
Due to Winter Storm Hernando impacting our area with forecasted significant snowfall, all Upper Moreland schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Monday, February 23, 2026. It will be a traditional snow day. Additionally, all after-school activities will be canceled.
Our crews will be working throughout the evening and during the day on Monday to clear sidewalks and parking lots. We will continue to evaluate conditions in our community to inform any changes to our normal schedule on Tuesday.
I ask that any residents who may visit one of our schools to sled or play in the snow avoid parking in lots where our crews are actively working to clear the snow and treat the parking lots. Thank you for your cooperation.
