Randy Garber, a 1971 alum and longtime head coach of the Abington Senior High School boys’ soccer team, was featured by 6ABC today for his longtime dedication to the community and his recent retirement announcement after decades as head of the program.

A former North American Soccer League champion and a current physical education teacher, Garber said he may or may not keep teaching, but that “the future of Abington soccer is in good hands”, 6ABC wrote.

Last week, Coach Garber was named the recipient of the 2025 W. Gene Davis Memorial Award as Coach of the Year in the Male AAAA classification.
