The Jenkintown Night Market has been going strong in Town Square each Tuesday since May 30, and this week is the season’s last call.
“This is our second year, and we consider it a success,” Ben Bergman, market manager, said. “We had a few problems with weather, but the market was well attended, the vendors are happy, the patrons are happy, and we’re looking forward to doing it again next season.”
“The market wouldn’t be a success without the Public Works Department of Jenkintown, the Borough, and all of the Jenkintown citizenry that attends. There are a lot of pieces, and the market is greater than the sum of its parts because of the great people of Jenkintown,” he said. “I’d also like to acknowledge our partners, Jiji Thomas and Rozanna ‘Rosie’ Torres. Their hot food options from King’s Corner and Lilly’s really enticed people. We also partnered with the Jenkintown Rec Board. Without the music, it wouldn’t have been what it was, either.”
Last week, the market featured Mark “Flaco” Best’s “Ellas y Amigos” celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, which included a live concert, a dance lesson, the sounds of Latin music, food vendors, wine and beer.
“We had a great response to some of the programming this year, including the two karaoke nights and the dance lesson and salsa in the Square. It was one of the best night’s we’ve had,” Bergman said. “We’re going to investigate more programming for next year. If anyone wants to connect with us with idea, we’re always looking.”

Catch the last Jenkintown Night Mark of 2023 at Town Square, 703 Greenwood Avenue, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
Bergman encourages area residents to keep a lookout for two upcoming events this winter which will segue from the Night Market: A winter craft fair in the Town Square and a three-day holiday market at the Pavilion in Jenkintown.
