La Salle College rising seniors, including five-star prospect Joey O’Brien, announce NCAA commitments

Joey O’Brien, Grayson McKeogh, Gavin Sidwar, and JP Oates, rising seniors for the La Salle College High School football team, have verbally committed to top-ranked NCAA programs.

O’Brien, a five-star safety/wide receiver and Glenside resident, announced his commitment to Notre Dame tonight. More on his announcement here.

McKeogh, a four-star offensive tackle and Wyndmoor resident, is ranked No.14 in the state and the No. 31 offensive tackle in the class of 2026 by 247Sports after only playing the position for a year. He told On3.com of his commitment on Wednesday.

Sidwar committed to Missouri and Oates committed to Temple.

La Salle school officials posted the following today:

O’Brien, a five-star recruit ranked among the top safeties and wide receivers in the country, has narrowed his list to Penn State, Notre Dame, Oregon, and Clemson. The announcement is expected to draw significant local and national attention.

“Joey is not only a phenomenal athlete, but also a leader in our community,” said Athletic Administrator Mr. Bob Zanneo, “His commitment decision is the culmination of years of hard work, and the La Salle Community is proud to support him as he takes the next step.”

Joey has earned accolades such as Philadelphia Catholic League MVP, First Team All-State, and MaxPreps All-American while helping lead the Explorers to the 2025 Catholic League Red Division Championship. He carries a 3.8 GPA and is widely recognized for his character and leadership on and off the field.
