La Salle College High School’s 2025 state championship football team was honored by Philadelphia City Council on Thursday, January 29 at City Hall.

The Explorers defeated District 7 champ Pittsburgh Central Catholic 34-20 at Cumberland Valley High School to claim the PIAA 6A State Championship in December. The Wyndmoor squad finished the season with a 13-1 overall record, a District 12 championship, and a Catholic League 6A championship.

A resolution was presented to head coach Brett Gordon by City Councilman Anthony Phillips, a 2006 graduate of La Salle College.

Seniors Aidan Christy, Chris Heck, Lucas Johnson, Danny Lawyer, and Jacob Jackson were presented the acknowledgement alongside Coach Gordon, a Glenside native who was named the Easternpafootball.com Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season.
