La Mott Fire Company hosting 3 volunteer recruitment information sessions this fall

The La Mott Fire Company, located in the Elkins Park section of Cheltenham Township, is hosting three informational events this fall regarding the duties of a volunteer firefighter.

The company’s volunteer recruitment information sessions will take place on September 30, October 30 and November 25 from 7:00pm-8:00pm at 7600 Penrose Avenue.

“Our goal with these sessions is to show our community members what it truly means to be a volunteer firefighter in La Mott,” said Captain TJ Sylla. “It’s more than just putting out fires; it’s about being a part of something bigger, and we want to explain how they can get involved.”

La Mott firefighters will be there to share their experiences and the unique benefits of volunteering. Those in attendance can tour the fire station and apparatus.

“Being trained and ready to respond when lives are on the line is one of the most rewarding ways you can serve your community,” said volunteer firefighter, David Schwartz. “We need more volunteers to keep our neighbors safe and it’s a great way to challenge yourself, learn new skills, and become part of a family that’s dedicated to helping others.”

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. Those interested in attending can RSVP here.
