Keswick Village Community Resilience Coalition to host Financial Resilience Panel evening of April 23

Press Release:

KCRC, known collquially as Kick Rocks, is a group of neighbors from Glenside, Abington, Cheltenham, and Jenkintown who gathered together after the SPS fire last year looking to partner with each other to inform themselves on how to prepare for a disaster, get connected to resources before another big event happens, and be prepared to help each other if needed.

As the summer storm season approaches, understanding the nuances of commercial and residential property insurance is critical for the economic strength of our community. To prepare, KCRC is partnering with Glenside’s own Gina Burke (Farmers Insurance), and Elizabeth Malone (formerly of Neighborhood Housing Services of NYC) to demystify insurance as it relates to disaster recovery.

We will cover:

  • What is (and isn’t) typically covered by standard property and flood insurance during a disaster
  • What a public adjuster does and when you might need one.
  • Best practices for recording damage, filing a claim, and reviewing your current home, auto, and flood policies to ensure business and household continuity.

Physical mitigation and financial readiness go hand-in-hand. Let’s build a more resilient Glenside together! Please share this post or tag a neighbor in the comments who might benefit from this info. 🤝

When: Tonight, Thursday, April 23 | 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Where: Won Community Service Center (423 Abington Ave)
