Keswick Tavern in Glenside allegedly shut down by authorities for operating without liquor license

The Keswick Tavern at 294 N Keswick Avenue in Glenside was allegedly raided by authorities on the evening of Tuesday, August 15.

According to an anonymous employee of Roberts Block Restaurant and Bar, the establishment had been operating without a liquor license since April, and their in-house supply of liquor and beer was removed from the premises.

Abington resident Mike Leibrandt told us that a 6ABC camera crew had been on-site to cover the raid.

We stopped by the tavern at 10:45pm on Tuesday and the interior was unlit and vacant. Its Tuesday hours are from 4:00pm to 9:00pm.

Multiple Facebook posts seem to confirm the rumors:

Just saw a camera crew set up by the Keswick Theatre while 2 cops were putting kegs Into the back of a pick up truck on the other side of the street by the Keswick Tavern. Anyone know what’s going on??”

“Does anyone know why Keswick Tavern is currently having their beer and liquor removed by police?”

Update: The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Bureau’s license database has the liquor license for the tavern marked expired as of April 30, 2023.

We will post more information as it becomes available. Stay tuned.
