Vice President Kamala Harris, Emmy Award-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph visiting Elkins Park on May 8 to talk reproductive rights

United States Vice President Kamala Harris will pay a visit to Elkins Park today as part of a campaign tour.

According to FOX29’s Bob Kelly, a motorcade will pass through the area sometime after 1:30pm.

The Cheltenham Police Department announced that Cottman Avenue and Township Line Road will see closures today at around 1:00pm and again around 4:00pm.

The American Presidency Project reported that the visit is tied to “the fight for reproductive freedoms” via a political event in Montgomery County. Emmy-award winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph of ‘Abbott Elementary’ will join Harris, though her role in the event is yet to be announced.

Ralph is married to State Sen. Vincent Hughes (D., Philadelphia).

The report notes that this will be Harris’s third visit to Pennsylvania this year and her 13th since taking office.
