Press Release:
The rides, carnival games and live entertainment were in full swing earlier this month at the annual June Fete which benefits Jefferson Abington Hospital. Started more than one hundred years ago, this special event has been enjoyed by generations of families with thousands of attendees each year. Hosted by the Abington Health Foundation Women’s Board, there was plenty of live entertainment, including jugglers and trampoline artists, a Horse and Pony Show, food trucks, a fireworks display, and much more.
Proceeds benefit services and programs to meet community and patient needs at Jefferson Abington Hospital that support medical education, community programs, building expansions, equipment purchases and patient needs.

“This year, proceeds will go toward the upgrade and expansion of the newly renamed Goodman Emergency Trauma Center which will streamline care and enhance the space with modernized treatment areas and patient amenities,” says Brian Sweeney, Regional President, Jefferson Health. “It’s an exciting advance that will expand access and raise the bar on how emergency medicine is delivered in our region.”
The enhancements will expand the hospital’s trauma capacity by 25 percent, increasing capacity from an average of 80,000 to more than 100,000 patient visits each year.
“We are extremely grateful to the thousands of visitors who come to the June Fete each year and help support Jefferson Abington Hospital,” adds Sweeney. “A special thank you to the many board and committee members, volunteers and staff who work hard all year to bring the June Fete Fair to the community.”
