Jenkintown’s premiere of ‘Hidden: The Musical’ now available on Youtube

David Heitler-Klevans, a resident of Elkins Park and co-creator of “Hidden: The Musical”, recently shared the production’s livestream recording.

“Hidden” premiered in May in Jenkintown and is based on the true story of Ruth Kapp Hartz, who as a young Jewish girl was hidden in Southern France during World War II.

Heitler-Klevans notes that viewers are able to make donations to the production here. According to the musical’s fundraising page, the money will be used for video and audio recording & production, working with a dramaturg, creating vocal & piano arrangements of all the music, and applying to festivals.

From his post:

We have some news to share regarding our musical – we finally have an improved version of the video of “Hidden” livestream from the Sunday, May 21 performance. We have added captions, and tried to fix some of the balance problems. The biggest hold-up was dealing with the French song (“Chanson d’automne”), which caused YouTube to block the video initially due to copyright issues. We finally found a way to license the song at the level which allowed us to re-record it.
