Jenkintown’s National Philanthropic Trust seeing record-setting numbers this year

For the first time in National Philanthropic Trust’s 26-year history, the number of grants to charities exceeded 100,000 in 2022, representing an increase of 17 percent compared to 2021 and a 98 percent increase compared to prepandemic 2019. The outfit granted $5.53 billion on behalf of its donors in 2022, representing a 303% increase of dollars granted compared to pre-pandemic giving in 2019.

Situated at 165 Township Line Road, NPT is the largest national, independent public charity that manages donor-advised funds. Founded in 1996, NPT has raised more than $40.5 billion in charitable contributions and currently manages $22.2 billion in charitable assets. The outfit has made nearly 541,000 grants totaling more than $21.0 billion to charities all over the world, and ranks among the largest grantmaking institutions in the United States.
