Jenkintown Borough will host its third annual Pride Flag Raising on Friday, June 6 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm in Town Square.
The event will include live local music by Celia “Dee” DeFazio, a 2024 graduate of Jenkintown High School, along with remarks from Malcolm Kenyatta and students in the Jenkintown High School GSA.
“It’s gotten bigger and better every year,” borough council president Jay Conners told Glenside Local. “The day has become almost like a festival.”
On Saturday, June 7, the Jenkintown Library invites the community to contribute to a “This is What Pride Looks Like” mural at 3:00pm.
“Materials will be provided, and each participant will decorate their panel, which will be combined into a large community mural displayed at the library throughout Pride Month,” the announcement said.
Grace Presbyterian Church of Glenside is hosting a Pride festival in the parking lot of Jenkintown Library that day from 11:00am – 5:00pm. The event will include musical performances, food trucks, activities for kids, an art show, and a meet-and-greet with author Emma Copley Eisenberg.
The church will also host a Clothing Drive throughout the month of June. More details here.
