Jenkintown, Rockledge boroughs release details about their annual 4th of July celebrations

The annual Rockledge Borough 4th of July Parade will begin at 9:00am and will travel through the following roads, each of which will be closed from 7:45am until 10:45am on Thursday, July 4:

  • Fox Chase Rd. between Huntingdon Pk. and Shady Ln.
  • Huntingdon Pk. between Shady Ln. and Church Rd.
  • Church Rd. between Borbeck St. and Huntingdon Pk.
  • Loney St. between Fillmore St. and Church Rd.
  • Unit block of N. Jarrett Ave.
  • Unit block of S. Jarrett Ave.
  • Unit block of N. Sylvania Ave.
  • Unit block of S. Sylvania Ave.
  • Unit block of Park Ave.
  • Unit block of N. Central Ave.
  • Unit block of S. Central Ave.
  • Unit block of Elm Ave.
  • Unit block of N. Penn Ave.
  • Unit block of S. Penn Ave.
  • Huntingdon Pk. vehicular traffic east will detour east on Shady Ln. to eastbound Montgomery Ave. to southbound Robbins Ave. back onto eastbound Huntingdon Pk.
  • Huntingdon Pk. vehicular traffic west will detour north on Blake Ave. to westbound Montgomery Ave. to westbound Shady Ln. back onto westbound Huntingdon Pk.


The borough will also host a July 4th Fun Festival at Cegielkowski Playground at 27 S. Sylvania Avenue at 1:00pm. The afternoon will feature games, giveaways and other activities, officials said.

Jenkintown

The Jenkintown Volunteer Fire Department will again sponsor Jenkintown Borough’s annual 4th of July parade which begins at 10:00am with a rain date of Saturday, July 6 at 10:00am.

The parade’s route will begin on Leedom Street and Greenwood Avenue and proceed north on Leedom Street to Hillside Avenue, west on Hillside Avenue to Walnut Street, south on Walnut Street to West Avenue and end at Town Square. 

The event will feature a parade of local fire trucks, a color guard, live music, and games.

At the conclusion of the parade, the fire department will be serving hot dogs and cold beverages at the Pioneer Fire Company and will award prizes in Town Square for Best Decorated Bikes in the following categories: Strollers & Wagons, Tricycles, and Bikes.
