Jenkintown resident to open Castorina’s Chili bar and BBQ in Hatboro this summer

Castorina’s Chili bar and BBQ is expected to open for business at 325 S York Road in Hatboro (the former Whiskey Fox Hair Parlor) by late summer.

Owner and Jenkintown resident Robert Castorina told Glenside Local that he’s been making different kinds of chili since 2007.

“My family has always been in the culinary world. I want to serve the community and make everyone happy there,” he said.

Castorina’s menu will include “a lot of authentic, backyard barbecue food” including honey ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, cornbread jalapeno muffins, ghost pepper tater tots, and plenty of chili.

“Some people don’t like chili because of the beans and meat. I make varieties with alternative ingredients. Everything’s homemade. I even make my own salt. Nothing will be frozen,” he said.

A dog lover, Castorina is also including K-9 chili options for owners on the go.

“It’s all healthy stuff. You’re on the go, you take the chili home, heat it up, and feed your puppy,” he said.

“I’m hoping to open by August, I got a lot of work ahead of me. I’m getting the whole layout done. I’m taking my time with this so it looks nice,” Castorina said.

We will be in touch with updates.
