Jenkintown police announce parking violation/permit updates

Jenkintown Borough Police Chief Tom Scott announced today that the department is currently training their new Parking Enforcement Officers to enforce violations, including cars parked against the flow of traffic.

“Any street that has two-way traffic allowed; you must park with the flow of traffic. Meaning, your passenger side of your vehicle should be adjacent to the curb, not your driver’s side. This is a safety violation,” Chief Scott said in a statement. “On any one-way street, you must park where allowed with the flow of traffic. We want to make our community safe and prevent a potentially dangerous situation from occurring on our streets. Please park with the flow of traffic on all of our streets.”

The department is also addressing permit parking violations and plans to improve the permit program through feedback from area residents.

Chief Scott encouraged updating parking permits for 2024.
