President Joe Biden has named Jenkintown physician, Ala Stanford, regional director for the Department of Health and Human Services.

In April 2020, Stanford started the Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium in Philadelphia. The Consortium ensured tests and vaccines were available in underserved neighborhoods, assisting thousands of people in Philadelphia.
