Jenkintown launches first annual Sean Snyder Phillies Fundraiser in honor of coach who passed away last year

Jenkintown School District announced today the launch of the first annual Sean Snyder Phillies Fundraiser in honor of the late Drakes and American Legion Angels coach.

Snyder, a 2008 graduate of Lower Moreland High School who served as Jenkintown High School’s assistant baseball coach in recent years, passed away on Friday, March 22. He was 33 years old.

He was described as “so much more than just a coach. He was a fan, role model, mentor, and a friend to so many of his players and their families” in the post.

Snyder was also an Eagle Scout, a talented baseball pitcher, and a private pitching coach.

“All money raised will go towards an annual award to be given to a qualifying senior baseball player at the senior athletic banquet,” the district said in a post. “Qualifications for the award will be determined by members of the Jenkintown staff and coaches.”

Drakes baseball will be at Citizens Bank Park to cheer on the Phillies on Friday, May 30. To purchase tickets, you can click here. The password is “DRAKES”.
