Jenkintown Borough has issued an announcement regarding changes to office hours due to the ongoing demolition of the abutting Salem Baptist Church. The demolition project at 610 Summit Avenue is proceeding as planned and on schedule.

The demolition of the Church’s Life Center, which looms over Borough Hall, has commenced using mechanical equipment. Friday, March 15th, the demolition of the shared party wall with Borough hall, will be performed by hand only, for safety and to minimize potential damage to Borough property.

On Monday, March 25th, Borough hall will be closed so the demolition of the shared party wall can be safely completed. The JPD has provided a statement that will be issued under separate cover as well. 

On Monday, March 25th, from 7am to 4pm the Police Department will not be open for walk in customer service, due to construction and demolition, of the party wall between the Borough building and Salem Church.  Patrol and calls for service will not be affected.  If you need to speak to an officer call 215-884-1200 or if an emergency call 911.
