Jenkintown football makes program history with win over 6A opponent

The Jenkintown High School football team defeated the Samuel Fels High School of Philadelphia 20-12 on Friday, September 13.

According to the school district, the victory marks the first time in program history that the Drakes have defeated a 6A opponent. Jenkintown’s football team competes in Division A of the Bicentennial Conference, according to the PIAA website.

Quarterback Jon Williams’ 74 passing yards included two touchdowns, one of which was rushing.

The Drakes are now 2-2, adding to the 16-0 win against KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy on September 3. They previously dropped a game to Lower Moreland High School by a score of 24-0 in a non-league game on Saturday, September 7, and lost 35-0 to Pequea Valley on September 1.
