The Jenkintown Fire Department recently highlighted junior volunteer firefighter Liam Casey, who joined the junior program as a 14-year-old.

From their Facebook post:

The last six years of his life have been completely dedicated to the Jenkintown Fire Department. Liam joined the junior program as a 14-year-old, after his neighbor, the former chief at Jenkintown Fire Department, encouraged him to give it a try. Once Liam visited the station, he knew that he had found his second family.

“We all trust each other here. There’s not just one role model, there’s a bunch of role models in this firehouse. It’s like a second family here. If I need anything, I can call one of these guys and I know that they will have my back, and it just feels really good to help out the community,” said Casey.
