Jenkintown EAC to host ‘Protect Habitats in Our Backyard’ on April 14, ‘Beautify the Borough Block by Block’ on April 27

The Jenkintown Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) will host an event titled “Protect Habitats in Our Backyard” on Tuesday, April 14 from 7:00pm – 8:00pm at Borough Hall (700 Summit Avenue).

From the event’s description:

Learn from local experts about keeping our watersheds clean and healthy. Ryan Neuman from Toocany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed and Jim Riggins, Public Works Foreman in Jenkintown, will talk about habitats in our watersheds, recent grant funding received by the Borough to improve storm drains and sewer lines, and more!  Find out about what lives in neighboring watersheds and how we can support healthy environments for all of us.

Beautify the Borough Block by Block

The EAC will also host an event titled “Beautify the Borough Block by Block” on Sunday, April 27 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.

Organizer Maureen Lucak said the focus of the cleanup is the business district along York Road and beyond.

“You’re welcome to clean up on the way to Town Square as well. We go all the way from Washington Lane to the edge of the business district,” Lucak said.
