Jenkintown Borough announces new Chief of Police

Jenkintown Borough has announced the hiring of a new Chief of Police, Chief Thomas Scott. He was sworn in on Monday, April 4th, with his wife wife Michele by his side. There will be a public swearing in ceremony as part of the Borough Council meeting scheduled on Wednesday April 27th. The site of the public ceremony will be announced in the near future.

Prior to his new position. Chief Scott served 25 years with the Abington Township Police Department. He began as a Patrol Officer, then Field Training Officer, DARE Officer, SWAT/Tactical Team Officer, Patrol Sergeant and finally he retired as Patrol Lieutenant/Watch Commander.

Chief Scott has an M.S. in Public Safety Management from Saint Joseph’s University and also is a graduate of the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Program, as well as the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command.
