Todd Keim, RN, Coordinator of Patient Care Services in the Emergency Trauma Center at Jefferson Abington Hospital, was presented with the Debbie Evangelista Award for Nursing Excellence in Trauma.

“Keim was recognized for leading many process improvement initiatives within the Trauma Department at Abington, and for his commitment to patient safety, quality care and clinical excellence,” the hospital said in a statement.

The award was created in memory of Debbie Evangelista, RN, a trauma nurse manager at Jefferson Abington Hospital who passed away.

“Debbie was a beloved nurse leader who advocated for patients, supported colleagues and helped to improve collaboration within the hospital’s Trauma Department,” the hospital said. “Following her passing, an anonymous donor made a generous gift to establish the award. Every year the award is presented to a trauma nurse at Jefferson Abington Hospital as a way to honor Debbie’s legacy.”
