Jefferson Abington Hospital is looking to sell its Warminster facility on Newtown Road to Avenues Recovery Center LLC, an addiction treatment and recovery center.

The center plans to set up a 150-bed inpatient “specialty hospital” with 24/7 support from onsite doctors and nurses, the Bucks County Herald reported.

Jefferson Health–Warminster currently has three buildings on its campus: the main building, the Stein Medical Office Building and the Outpatient Center.

“Jefferson Health is committed to the community and will continue delivering high-quality, compassionate and equitable care,” Irene Contreras Reyes, spokeswoman for Jefferson Health, said in an email. “To fulfill its mission, Jefferson Health will continue operating services at the Warminster campus.”

According to the Herald, the center is appealing a previous interpretation of whether the proposed center constitutes a “hospital campus” or a “sober living facility.”
