Jefferson Abington Hospital’s Andrew Tesauro Special Care Nursery (NICU) will host a special Christmas Eve donation drive from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Sunday, December 24.
Since 2018, Warrington resident Kori Robino has organized a special Christmas Eve gift giveaway for families spending the holidays in Jefferson Abington’s NICU.
The idea began as a way to honor Robino’s daughter Colette, who was born with fluid in her lungs and was successfully treated at Jefferson Abington Hospital’s NICU. Grateful for the care that Colette received, the family decided to pay it forward with the now annual holiday tradition.
This year the Robino Family will be joined by Nicky Smith, whose family generously donated $5,000 toward the gift bag purchases.
Also in attendance will be NICU graduate Claire Sharkey and her mother Martha, founder of Today is a Good Day, a non-profit that supports NICU families. The group will hand out gift bags full of preemie-sized clothing, swaddles, bibs, burp cloths, books, stuffed animals and other baby care items to each family in the NICU.
