iPhone porch pirates who were active in Hatboro/Willow Grove arrested in Langhorne

The Middletown Township Police Department announced today the arrest of Elvi Duran Vargas (above left) and Elias Gomez-Rodriguez (above right) for stealing several iPhone boxes from the porches of homes in the Langhorne area.

Police noted that a check of area license plate readers showed the vehicle was active in the Hatboro/Willow Grove area just prior to being in Langhorne.

Police said they received information from AT&T regarding several Apple products that were being shipped to addresses in Middletown Township on September 26. One of the properties had an iPhone 16 Pro delivered at 1:03pm. At 2:17pm, detectives observed a Honda pull up to the residence, followed by a passenger exiting, proceeding to the porch, and removing the package.

The vehicle was immediately stopped by police, and the passenger was identified as Vargas, the vehicle owner and driver as Gomez-Rodriguez. Several iPhone boxes were observed in the vehicle in plain view.

Their cell phones were seized and search warrants are expected in the coming days, police said. The vehicle was impounded.

Rodriguez was interviewed and stated that Vargas was being provided with tracking numbers and addresses by an unknown subject. Vargas declined to be interviewed without an attorney, police said.
