Indigo Blue Style in Elkins Park kicks off 2024 with a health-conscious offer

Keiana Armani, a certified fitness trainer and owner of Indigo Blue Style in Elkins Park, wants to kick off 2024 with a healthy push.

“January to March will be our biggest fitness times of the year,” she said. ” I always see an influx that time of year. People are trying to get healthy, they have New Year’s resolutions.”

Among Indigo Blue’s fitness line is a waist trainer collection.

“They’re actually very helpful for women during workouts. It helps us lose inches around our waists, along with digestion and posture benefits, and it also accelerates sweating,” Armani said. “It can be worn during or not during workouts. Over time, it helps women achieve an hour-glass shape.”

30-minute fitness classes are offered through Indigo Blue’s Platinum Membership, which gets registrants unlimited sessions any day of the week. The sessions come with one-on-one consultations and include foci on core, upper body, lower body, stretch, and “IB” (Indigo Blue) circuit classes.

“These are women-only, small classes. They’re very personalized sessions, the focus of which is calisthenics or body weight movements. I’ve worked in many clubs over the years, and I wanted something more personal, as opposed to a class with dozens of people,” Armani said. “I find that one-on-one training goes better with people. The trainer can help with form and individual goals.”

Armani also noted the mental health benefits of fitness, especially during the winter months.

“Exercising helps with depression. Moving our bodies helps stave that off, especially this time of year. You can see results and more energy in two weeks. Once we start moving, we feel alive again,” she said.
