Susan Staples, an employee of a business located on the 2700 block of Philmont Avenue in Huntingdon Valley, turned herself into the Lower Moreland Township Police Department on Friday, April 4.
An arrest warrant had been issued earlier this month for Staples, who is accused of forgery in connection with $169,281.00 in unauthorized transactions through her place of employment.
According to the report, the business told police that a theft and unauthorized use of business checks and gas cards were taking place. An investigation revealed that between October 2023 and August 2024, Staples made the transactions using the business’s bank account and gas cards assigned to her.
Multiple cell phones and iPads were ordered on the business’s cellular phone account without authorization, police said. Packages were delivered to the business between September 21, 2023, and August 4, 2024 addressed to Susan Staples. Business checks from the business’s bank account were also found to have been forged and endorsed by Susan Staples.
The checks were cashed between October 23, 2023, and January 5, 2024.
