We present unique events every week, but this week’s show is extra unique! On 5/29 & 30th, the House of Magic presents an original play, Houdini Speaks to the Living.
The year is 1926, and the Great Houdini is taking his crusade against Spiritualism and fake mediums straight to the public in a series of performance/lectures filled with magic and seance-debunking. At the same time, his good friend Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries, is lecturing on behalf of Spiritualism, believing it to be “a great Philosophy” that will usher in a new age for mankind. Watch these two legends battle out the true nature of magic. This play will run for two nights and the age limit is 13+.
About 75% of the play is verbatim theatre, so in a sense the House of Magic is indeed conjuring the very essences of Houdini and Doyle. Enjoy magic, ghost stories, and a great evening of theater. The wonderful Conrad Cologne presents his Family Show Saturday at 1 PM.
All the proceeds from this special Sunday 5/31 1 PM- Ages 10+ show will benefit Jimmy Brown. Jimmy has spent his life sharing magic and wonder with audiences. Last year, Jimmy was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After enduring a long and difficult year of treatment, he is thankfully now in remission. However, the road to full recovery is still ongoing, and the financial strain from his illness has left him struggling. Every ticket and donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping Jimmy regain stability with housing so he can focus on his continued recovery. Three great acts, one great cause.
