Bob and Nancy (Munn) Lamont, Cheltenham High grads from classes 1946 and 1947, respectively, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on August 1, 2020.
The occasion was shared with all their children, their children’s children, and their children’s children’s children.
According to local historian Chuck Langerman, the couple first met in a CHS hallway in the old Elkins Park building. On February 8, 1945, they went bowling for their first date.
After a three-year engagement, they were married on September 23, 1950.
Unfortunately, on April 14, 2021, Bob passed at the age of 92. Their marriage lasted 70 years and 203 days, the longest known marriage of any two Cheltenham High School alumni.
Bob was also a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Jenkintown where he served at a Trustee. His obituary can be found here.
