As Philadelphia Eagles fans bask in the afterglow of a second NFL championship, local historian Chuck Langerman shared that Jalen Hurts brought his football camp to Cheltenham High School on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
According to Langerman, the sold-out camp in Wyncote focused on football as well as role modeling and leadership. Each camper received individual instruction from, and a selfie with, the star quarterback.
“At the time, some Eagles fans questioned his passing accuracy and potential to lead the Eagles to the promised land, but on February 9, 2025, Hurts passed for 221 yards and two touchdowns, along with 72 yards rushing and one touchdown, in the Eagles 40-22 convincing victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX,” Langerman wrote to Glenside Local. “Jalen joined Nick Foles that day as the only two Philadelphia Eagles to win Super Bowl MVP since the inception of the award in 1966.”
