On Friday, October 6, the Cheltenham High School football team staged a second-half comeback to defeat the Springfield Montco Spartans 26-19 for their first victory of the 2023 season.

With a 1-1 conference record, the Panthers are looking to capture the Suburban One League American Division championship. Cheltenham will host Upper Moreland on Friday, October 13. The team is currently 1-5 overall.
According to local historian Chuck Langerman, the Cheltenham-Springfield football series began in 1926. The Panthers lead the all-time series with 23 wins and eight losses.
