Hatboro police arrest woman who repeatedly attempted to assault an officer

The Hatboro Police Department announced today the arrest of Emily Abbruzzi, 23, for attempting to kick a police officer multiple times while she was being taken into custody for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

According to the report, Hatboro police were dispatched to Hatters Court in the Woodwinds Condo Complex for the report of a domestic disturbance in progress on Sunday, October 4. While officers were responding, they received information that there were approximately seven individuals engaged in a fist fight in the parking lot.

Arriving officers did not find a large-scale fight but found Abbruzzi displaying signs of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. When officers attempted to take her into custody, she “purposefully kicked an officer in the leg”, police said.

After Abbruzzi was secured in handcuffs, and as she was being placed in the back of the patrol vehicle, she attempted to kick the same officer in the chest. As she was being seat belted, she attempted for a third time to kick the same officer, this time in the face.

Abbruzzi was arrested and charged with the violations below. She was arraigned on Monday where bail was set at $1,000. A preliminary hearing is pending, police said.
