The Hatboro Police Department announced today the arrest of William McNichol, 60, for conducting a traffic stop while impersonating a police officer at the intersection of S York Road and Byberry Road following a road rage incident on Saturday, June 21.

An investigation revealed that McNichol, who is not a police officer, has a Dodge Charger with emergency lighting. He used the lighting to signal the victim of the road rage incident to pull over, police said. 

McNichol was arrested and charged with:

• 18 4912 IMPERSONATING A PUBLIC SERVANT
• 18 2709 A2 HARASSMENT
