Michael Charles Gordon, 33, of Hatboro, who is accused of robbing and kidnapping a female resident of Springfield Township at knifepoint in June, was sentenced to up to 16 years in prison for previous armed robberies at four gas stations, Mainline Media News reported.

Gordon robbed a Sunoco in Lower Southampton, a Karco in Philadelphia twice, and the Lukoil at 1945 Old York Road in Abington. Officials said he was skating on rollerblades during the incident.

He had been previously charged with kidnapping, burglary, robbery, criminal trespass, terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, theft, receiving stolen property, simple assault and false imprisonment.

According to the Springfield Township Police Department, the June incident took place as the victim was putting her trash cans out. Gordon allegedly held her at knifepoint while she searched for money in her car to give him. An investigation determined that he initially intended to rob a Lukoil station on Bethlehem Pike and targeted the woman for robbery after seeing her taking her trash out, Mainline Media News said.

An investigation determined that he was also responsible for three similar robberies that occurred in recent months. According to Mainline Media News, he must still address the outstanding kidnapping, burglary, and robbery-related charges in connection with the June 5 incident.
