Hatboro man sentenced for attempting to illegally sell guns to an undercover detective

Eric Scott “Ghost” Haegele, 43, of the 2300 block of Horsham Road in Hatboro, was sentenced to 6 to 12 months in prison after pleading guilty to inadvertently attempting to illegally sell firearms to an undercover detective in September 2024, Mainline Media News reported.

Haegele received charges of attempted illegal sale of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license.

An investigation began in August 2024 when Abington Township detectives received a tip that a man who went by “Ghost” had three firearms for sale, including a 9mm Ruger P95 pistol, an American Tactical AR-15 style short-barrelled pistol/rifle, and a 12-gauge tactical shotgun.

An undercover detective then began communicating via text message with Haegele, during which he sent photos of the guns. Haegele reportedly arrived at the meet location along Moreland Road in the Willow Grove section of Abington and attempted to complete the firearm for cash transaction, Mainline Media said. Detectives subsequently seized Haegele’s three firearms.

Haegele will receive credit for the month he spent in jail after his arrest and must complete two years of probation consecutive to his parole.
