Hatboro man arrested for causing $4K in damages to a car wash vacuum machine after stealing coins from it

The Warrington Township Police Department recently announced the December 14 arrest of Richard Roy Jones, 48, of Hatboro, for causing more than $4,000 in damages to a vacuum machine after stealing “a few dollars in coins” from it in March 2024.

According to the report, Warrington Police responded to a report of a theft at the American Car Wash at 1329 Easton Road in Warrington on March 14.

An investigation revealed that “as a result of the break-in, the vacuum machine was damaged beyond repair and needed to be replaced, with the cost of the new vacuum totaling $4,077.07.”

His charges are below:

  • (18) 3921 A THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING (M3)
  • (18) 3925 (A) RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY (M3)
  • (18) 3304 (A) (3) CRIMINAL MISCHIEF (M2)
