Habit Burger & Grill, located at 1621 The Fairway in Jenkintown, will host four free giveaways this weekend.
The new eatery’s soft launch kicks off at 11:30am on Saturday, October 3. The first 200 guests will receive a complimentary Charburger or salad, fries and drink. The same 200-person giveaway will take place later that day at 5:00pm, and another 400 meals will be gifted at the same times on Sunday.
A grand opening will take place on Monday. Guests can join MyHabit and reserve their spot for the preview events.
Habit’s Jenkintown location sits 86 inside, with another 16-20 seats in its adjacent outdoor patio.

Jamison Young, regional marketing leader for Habit, said the location currently employs 24. Training began Thursday, and the hiring process began two weeks ago. Management said they had every position filled in two days.
“We’re excited to be in the second Philadelphia suburb location. What stands out about us is everything is fresh and made-to-order. They make everything right in front of you,” Young said. “We’re known for our Charburger, that’s what put us on the map.”
Habit’s Charburger was voted USA Today’s #1 burger three years in a row, and their tempura green beans won #1 side in 2025 and 2024.
“We have a lot of variety. We have something for everyone: veggie options, salads, shakes, tuna, kids favorites, sauces and sides,” Young said.
Habit Burger & Grill launched in Santa Barbara in 1969. Today, Habit’s wingspan includes 400 locations across 15 states with roughly 100 more in the works, plus 14 food trucks. Habit’s first location in the Philly suburbs opened in August 2017 in King of Prussia. Young said that location has helped spread the word for the Jenkintown spot.
“You definitely feel the buzz. People are excited about us coming. Because of the King of Prussia location, there’s familiarity with the brand and our fresh food,” he said.
The location exists across all the delivery platforms and offers catering services through EZ Cater.

“We’re looking forward to seeing how the public responds to us. Training has gone smoothly and everyone’s getting along well,” assistant general manager Zakiyyah Howard, an uptown Philly native, said. “I think we have a good team. Come see us.”
