Canada’s wildfires are prompting a new round of air quality alerts along the East Coast, as fine particulate levels are expected to increase in our region.
Glenside’s air quality levels are listed at 58, which is considered a “moderate” risk level according to airnow.gov. Fine particulate matter is shown in yellow on the map above.
Most of the state is forecast to see air quality index levels in the mid-60s throughout Monday, and Tuesday will also see moderate air quality levels throughout most of Pennsylvania, according to airnow.gov.
The smoke and haze aren’t expected to reach late June’s “unhealthy” levels, but “if you are unusually sensitive to particle pollution, consider reducing your activity level or shorten the amount of time you are active outdoors,” airnow.gov suggests.
