Grace Presbyterian Church launches $3M renovation project to be completed in 2025

Grace Presbyterian Church in Jenkintown recently launched a $3 million series of renovations which will continue into 2025.

The project will revamp a series of rooms on the lower level of their building at 444 York Road which are used for regular meetings of civic organizations, social events, theater rehearsals, and support-groups.

The project also includes a new Adult Ed/Community Room, an enlarged and updated youth lounge, a new wooden floor for the Muyskens Community Hall, an updated kitchen, and increased access for people who are disabled, the church said.

The church is also updating its HVAC system and electrical grid.

The project is expected to take eight months. Funding is being provided by a state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) matching grant of $1.5 million and a three-year capital campaign that is raising $1.6 million from congregation members.

“The church is grateful to state Sen. Art Haywood, state Reps. Napoleon Nelson and Ben Sanchez, the Redevelopment Authority of Montgomery County and Jenkintown Borough for their support and cooperation in getting this vital project off the ground,” Grace Presbyterian said in a statement.

Plans for the project date back to September 2023.
