Grace Lutheran Church in Glenside is requesting donations of healthy, homemade soup, which will be delivered to neighbors in need from October 7 through November 16.
The church is partnering with Caring for Friends to support those who are food deprived in Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Philadelphia Counties.
Grace Lutheran will provide covered pint containers for freezing the soup before dropping it off at the church (801 East Willow Grove Avenue, Wyndmoor) on Sundays from 12:00pm – 1:00pm. Arrangements for alternate drop off or pick up times may be made by contacting the church at 215-836-2366 or by email at gracewyndmoor@verizon.net.
From Grace Lutheran’s announcement:
Food insecurity affects people of all ages, especially the aged, the infirm and families with children. Grace Lutheran Church in Wyndmoor has a long history of partnering with social service organizations and actively supports Caring for Friends, an organization whose mission is to provide food and friendship to
people who are homebound, homeless, and hungry.
The annual Soup Drive provides gallons of healthy meals to needy people throughout our neighborhoods. As you make Thanksgiving plans for your family, include some pints of your favorite soup recipe for our hungry neighbors.
