Governor Josh Shapiro has signed 14 bills into law so far this year.
He signed HB 797, HB 1251, HB 2163, SB 507, SB 848, and SB 867 into law last month. Their descriptions are below:
House Bill 797
An Act amending the act of May 25, 1933 (P.L.1050, No.242), referred to as the Second Class City Firemen Relief Law, further providing for requirements of membership, for married persons and pensions to surviving spouses and for eligibility of surviving spouses.
The bill was cosponsored by Representative Benjamin Sanchez of Abington Township, among others.
House Bill 1251
An Act amending the act of October 10, 1975 (P.L.383, No.110), known as the Physical Therapy Practice Act, further providing for definitions and for practice of physical therapy.
The bill was cosponsored by Sanchez, among others.
House Bill 2163
An Act amending the act of May 1, 1933 (P.L.216, No.76), known as The Dental Law, further providing for definitions, for general powers of the State Board of Dentistry, for penalties and for restricted faculty license.

Senate Bill 507
An Act amending the act of December 20, 1985 (P.L.457, No.112), entitled “An act relating to the right to practice medicine and surgery and the right to practice medically related acts; reestablishing the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure as the State Board of Medicine and providing for its composition, powers and duties; providing for the issuance of licenses and certificates and the suspension and revocation of licenses and certificates; provided penalties; and making repeals,” further providing for definitions, for midwifery and for nurse-midwife license; and providing for certified midwife license.

Senate Bill 848
An Act amending the act of April 9, 1929 (P.L.177, No.175), known as The Administrative Code of 1929, in organization of departmental administrative boards and commissions and of advisory boards and commissions, further providing for State Planning Board.
Senate Bill 867
An Act amending the act of November 10, 1999 (P.L.491, No.45), known as the Pennsylvania Construction Code Act, in preliminary provisions, further providing for definitions and for Accessibility Advisory Board; in Uniform Construction Code, further providing for adoption by regulations and for revised or successor codes; in training and certification of inspectors, further providing for education and training programs; and establishing the Accessibility Advisory Board Administration Account.

Senate Bill 1218
In March, Shapiro signed off on Senate Bill 1218, which “allows bars and restaurants in Philadelphia to stay open for two extra hours during the FIFA World Cup and America250 celebrations, between June 11 and July 20, 2026.”
In February, Shapiro signed seven more bills: HB 17, HB 710, HB 1934, SB 327, SB 467, HB 331 and SB 1036.

An Act amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in financial responsibility, further providing for required financial responsibility and providing for online verification of financial responsibility.
House Bill 1934
An Act amending the act of October 15, 1980 (P.L.950, No.164), known as the Commonwealth Attorneys Act, in general provisions, further providing for definitions.

Senate Bill 327
An Act amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, in the State System of Higher Education, further providing for definitions and for powers and duties of councils of trustees. Amending Title 53 (Municipalities Generally) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in employees, further providing for automatic certification.
Senate Bill 467
An Act authorizing the release of Project 70 restrictions on certain lands owned by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, formerly owned by the Borough of West Mifflin Allegheny County, in exchange for the imposition of Project 70 restrictions on other land owned by the Borough of West Mifflin.
House Bill 331
An Act amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in budget and finance, further providing for expenses; in facilities and supplies, further providing for deposits into account; and, in access to justice, providing for performance audit of account.

Senate Bill 1036
An Act amending Title 73 (Townships) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, consolidating the First Class Township Code; and making a repeal.
