Pioneer Fire Company #1 of Jenkintown is asking for the community’s support for firefighter and vice president Paul McBride, who has been diagnosed with Stage Four cancer.
“Paul has been a long time member of the company as a dedicated member protecting and serving our community, and now he and his family could use our help and support,” the department said in a post. “A GoFundMe has been established to assist with medical expenses and to support his family during this difficult time. Any donation, large or small, will make a meaningful difference.”
From the GoFundMe’s description:
Please donate to support my brother Paul McBride, who is facing stage 4 lung, liver, and spinal cancer. Paul is such an asset to his community. He has been a volunteer fireman since age 16 with Edge Hill and Pioneer Fire Company. He has helped build houses for Habitat for decades. Blackthorn Rugby has been his passion for the past several years, coaching and serving on the Board of Directors. Paul has been in the hospital for most of July fighting for his life. His family is facing many unexpected expenses. We appreciate your donation and your prayers.
The campaign was launched in July. $16,066 has been raised at the time of this writing.
