GoFundMe launched for Glenside resident battling Stage IV esophageal cancer

A GoFundMe was launched on Monday, December 11 on behalf of Seamus Meenagh, a Glenside resident, who is battling Stage IV esophageal cancer.

According to the American Cancer Society, the diagnosis means “the cancer has spread to distant lymph nodes or to other distant organs. In general, these cancers are very hard to get rid of completely, so surgery to try to cure the cancer is usually not a good option. Treatment is used mainly to help keep the cancer under control for as long as possible and to relieve any symptoms it is causing.”

Seamus and his wife Kerri are currently supporting their two daughters’ college education at Temple University and Catholic University.

From the GoFundMe’s description:

Seamus is maintaining a very positive attitude as he endures the many treatments and side effects that come along with battling cancer. The road ahead will take a toll both emotionally and financially.

Seamus has always been extremely generous and the first person to help others when needed. It would be so appreciated if we could reciprocate his generosity.

A GoFundMe campaign has been established to provide some support to Seamus, Kerri, Aisling and Saorla. Every donation will make a significant impact on helping the Meenagh family tremendously. Additionally, your thoughts, prayers, and messages of support are invaluable and deeply appreciated during this time.

Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our friends when they need it the most.
