Kitty On Top Bartending, a mobile bartending business in Glenside, was recently featured by PBS WHYY for their third annual “All Black Everything” event on Saturday, July 8.
The event showcased Black-owned spirits, soul food, and Black vendors from the region.
Owner Khamila “Kitty” Barnes is an Abington Senior High School and Penn State Abington graduate. She also runs regular liquor tastings, where she pairs tequilas and whiskeys.
She co-curated the event with her husband Darnell Barnes, who runs DSQ Photography Studio in Glenside. The event was held at Darnell’s studio.

From Kitty On Top’s website:
Kitty On Top mobile bartending was created in 2014 after Khamila worked for a few established venues and decided she wanted to offer a more personal and enhanced experience to her clients. Her husband encouraged her to build her own business based on her love of sharing libations wherever she encounters people… she freed herself from the restrictions of a bar and began mixing libations wherever her spirit took her and clients booked her. Homes, apartments, churches, backyards, barns, and even rooftops. One day she hopes to take her mixology skills to new heights on a private jet!
