“Grand Hank” (aka Tyraine Ragsdale), a 30-year resident of Glenside and a promoter of large STEM events for youth nationwide, is hosting an open house for his recently completed Liquid Science venue in Germantown on Saturday, August 23 from 2:00pm – 6:00pm.
Ragsdale renovated an abandoned two-story building at 501 Armstrong Street, which opened in July. According to a press release on GrandHank.com, the facility will provide K-12 students with the opportunity to “do hands-on STEM related projects to improve their overall performance in this area” and “produce television and video related content to assist students in understanding STEM.”
From the venue’s description:
Liquid Science Event Spaces is a dynamic venue founded by Master Scientist Grand Hank and his wife, Georgina Ragsdale, a proud Philadelphia native and retiree of the Laborers’ District Council Benefit Funds. What began as a vision to repurpose a historic watch factory has transformed into a multifunctional hub for events, education, and corporate gatherings—all housed within a stunning example of adaptive reuse.
Our indoor and outdoor spaces are designed to spark creativity, collaboration, and connection. The crown jewel of the property, “The Ruins,” offers a visually striking outdoor environment that echoes the timeless beauty of ancient Greek and Roman architecture.
