Glenside Walkabout: Keane Vintage Just Might Have Long Lost Treasure

Kathy Keane

Even if you aren’t a lover of history as I am, you likely have an appreciation for the quality of the things made before our times. Even in the age of Ebay, nothing beats scoring that long-sought-after trinket or piece of memorabilia to embellish your living space.

Keane Vintage just might have that item you’ve been seeking. If not, you just might find something else, and if not, then its proprietor Kathy Keane (seen at top) just might know where to find it.

She specializes in vintage clothing and jewelry, but she fills out her inventory with some inspired crafts as well as a varied assortment of classic twentieth-century toys, cameras, and other tchotchkes.

Who knew that Parker Brothers made an Eddie Cantor board game? How is it this didn’t become as popular as Monopoly!

I have to say, however, that what really sparked my interest was the Glenside map pillow made by a local artist who makes these for any community that shows up on a vintage map. It’s only $35 and it makes a perfect gift for anyone living out in the Glenside diaspora who misses home.

Great gift idea for the Glenside resident, handcrafted and only $35.

Keane Vintage can be found in the heart of Keswick Village at 278 Keswich Avenue. Call 215-884-8414 for more information, or just email Kathy.

We love walking the walkable communities, so GlensideLocal will take a stroll and present our readers with the people that give us all these great stores, restaurants, and other small businesses that make Glenside and Jenkintown such attractive places to live, work, and visit.
