Glenside UCC to host ‘Live and Learn’ lunch + TED Talk + discussion event May 9

The Glenside UCC is hosting a “Live and Learn” event on Tuesday, May 9 at 2160 Wharton Road, Glenside.

The event includes a lunch at 12:00pm followed by the TED Talk “Why Art is a Tool for Hope.” From the event’s description:

The TED speaker, JR, is famed for enormous black-and-white portraits that are pasted on surfaces ranging from the Louvre to the US-Mexico border wall. In this powerfully moving talk, he shares how he made a giant mural on the courtyard floor of a maximum-security prison — with the help of guards and prisoner. If you are not familiar with TED talks, see TED.com. If you do not wish to have lunch, come at 1:00 PM. Since the building houses a pre-school, all doors are kept locked, so please use the Wharton Road entrance. If no one is stationed at the door, ring the bell. See you there.
